Red Streetcars are the symbol of the VIA streetcars in San Antonio. VIA Metropolitan Transit has been operating the public transportation system since l978. There are Red Routes, Yellow Routes, Purple Routes, Brown Routes and Blue Routes. Don’t be confused; 10 minutes will save you lots of money on tours. Get a route guide, look on the back and you will realize that the streetcar stops at all major points of interest.
Streetcars are propane powered, equipped with wheelchair lifts and air-conditioned. The fee is $.50 per ride. GET A TRANSFER- it works. |
